Specialized Polyamide Recycling Industry

Today’s Waste, Tomorrow’s Raw Material

DEEPTECH
INDUSTRIAL COMPANY

Founded in 2019 in Auxerre under the name Ecollant and established in Joigny since January 2026, REC has strengthened its position as an innovative player in polyamide recycling.

Today, the company is reaching a major milestone in its development by industrializing a unique process capable of extracting polyamide from complex textile and materials waste streams that were previously destined for incineration or landfill. In a context shaped by successive global crises, supply chain tensions, and rising raw material costs, one question becomes increasingly relevant: why continue burying or destroying resources that can be recovered and reused? Through its proprietary technology, REC provides a practical answer to this challenge by transforming waste into valuable new resources. The potential is immense. Applications include carpets, rugs, lingerie, sportswear, fishing nets, agricultural protection nets, as well as numerous industrial and automotive components such as airbags and certain bumper elements.

These largely untapped waste streams represent a significant source of recyclable raw materials and a major opportunity to accelerate the transition toward a more circular economy.

TECHNOLOGICAL CHALLENGE: FIBER SEPARATION

We successfully addressed the challenge of separating blended materials found in complex yarn structures, such as polyamide stockings, socks, and tights, the first case study developed by Ecollant. These products are manufactured using covered yarns, which combine strength and elasticity within a single textile structure.

Building on this expertise, we have developed an innovative recycling solution capable of transforming end-of-life textiles into high-quality polyamide pellets on an industrial scale.

FROM WASTE TO RESOURCE: Giving Complex Materials a Second Life

As a specialist in polyamide (PA) recycling, REC transforms the most complex waste streams, including textiles and other composite materials, into high-quality polyamide compounds.

Our unique process restores industrial value to materials that are currently considered non-recyclable and are typically destined for incineration or landfill. By converting waste into valuable raw materials, REC provides a turnkey circular solution that supports sustainable and responsible manufacturing.

INNOVATION Driving Your ESG and Sustainability Strategy

At REC, we transform complex materials waste into high-quality recycled polyamide compounds.

By converting both pre-consumer and post-consumer waste into valuable industrial resources, we provide a tangible solution to help decarbonize your value chain and support your sustainability objectives. Our technology enables businesses to meet the challenges of the circular economy while strengthening their ESG commitments and environmental performance.

PA6 & PA6.6 Polyamide Recycling

REC is a pioneering DeepTech company developing and industrializing the first European recycling pathway dedicated to the regeneration of PA6 and PA6.6 polyamide (nylon) from complex waste streams.

Leveraging a breakthrough technology, REC can separate polyamide from the other fibers with which it is commonly blended—particularly elastane—thereby producing recycled material with performance characteristics comparable to those of virgin resin.

The challenge is significant. Polyamide is widely used in technical textiles, lingerie, sportswear, carpets, nets, and numerous industrial applications. However, because it is most often combined with other materials, its recycling has remained a major technical obstacle.

Until now, no clean industrial solution existed to efficiently extract polyamide from these complex materials. REC is the first company in the world to develop and industrialize a technology capable of addressing this challenge, unlocking the potential to recover and valorize millions of tonnes of waste currently destined for incineration or landfill.

This innovation helps secure the supply of strategic raw materials while reducing the environmental footprint of industries that rely heavily on polyamide.
